After a choral workshop led by Matthew on Friday evening, on Saturday afternoon participants will join forces with Halifax Choral Society, Halifax Minster Choir and Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra for a full rehearsal, before giving a powerful concert performance in the evening as part of the Halifax Minster Summer Festival.
In September 2025, Halifax Choral Society proudly launched its third season under the direction of Anthony Gray. During Autumn 2025 we have sung Verdi Requiem and Handel's Messiah alongside some outstanding soloists and orchestras, and we raised the roof at the Victoria Theatre Halifax at our Christmas concert with Black Dyke Band.
We have discovered new composers via our inaugural composition competition and have introduced new singers to Handel’s Messiah via our Learn to Sing Messiah course and our Messiah in a Day workshop.
We have more new projects and unforgettable musical experiences in the pipeline - this spring is the perfect time to join the choir. We grow stronger each season, honouring our 208-year legacy while boldly embracing the new.
